Day Of The African Child

Governor John Mruttu has called upon parents and advocacy groups to ensure that they champion the rights and dignity of both the boy and girl child. He said that the boy child is more vulnerable because of the challenges life has posed on him and the continued push for rights of the girl child.

“Boys are subject to early labour and drug use and abuse. Even as we fight to make our girls comfortable, we should strive to give them better brothers and husbands in future. This can only happen when we wage a complete war against issues threatening all children irrespective of gender,” he said.

He has challenged parents, teachers and the community to exhaust all they have in providing a decent education for their children since this is the best inheritance they can give in the modern world.
