Wanjala and Lilian mining Companies to be audited

News of more than 30 mining licences which were revoked by Mining Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala was received well by many Kenyans. However, it has come to my notice that some of the affected areas were our very own Wanjala Mining Company in Kishushe  and Lillian Mining Company based in Kasigau.
Mining Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala

According to Balala more than 30 licences for mining, prospecting and exploration had been issued irregularly.

Actually, this is a great move by Balala. But I wonder what the previous ministers were doing in their offices not to identify these 'Waiganjo' licences.

I remember former minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere visiting Kishushe to survey to carry out a mapping exercise to determine type and quantities of minerals in the area but he didn't even thought of fake licences!
Former Minister Hon. Mwakwere accompanied by other Ministry officials being shown some of the stones mined at the Wanjala mines by Mr. Kaburu Saghani.

Well, Taita Taveta County Governor John Mruttu has reacted on the issue. This is his comment on facebook:

John Mruttu Yes I agree fully. We will start with an audit. This opens the door for us go review the taxes and levies that are being paid at the moment.

He was commenting on a post by Mwana wa Kidasi Cha Mbeo which received numerous comments.
